I’ve been “makin a car go away” again!

Yep, I have been another car – go away!  I bought a 1965 Valiant for $250 a few months ago.  I got the bumpers, some small parts and a good engine and radiator for the price.  Now after taking what I want – it has to go.  The best tool I have found for making cars go away is the SawzAll or in my case the DeWalt Heavy Duty Reciprocating Saw – I like the Milwaukee 48-00-5784 Super Sawzall Blade 18 Teeth per Inch 6 in. Length as the blade of choice.  That thing is cheaper and safer than a gas-torch – in fact Miwaukee calls the blade The TORCH right on it!

Here I have cut the car in half

Well, we took a trip to visit our son and his wife in Illinois and then to Iowa. We visited my brother and two of Lynette’s brothers while there and on Saturday the 12th we went to the Iowa State Fair.

I have not been to our own State Fair here in Minnesota for quite a few years and Lynette’s brother Phil keep telling us how we had to come down and see it. Well as Fairs go – I must say it was nice! Not a big as the Minnesota fair (in land covered) but they had a “LOT OF BULL” there! 3090 pounds of Angus Bull to be exact – he was sleeping in the hot afternoon when we saw him and I think I am glad – he was bigger than a VW Bug and a lot heavier too. They seem to grow all kinds of big animals down in Iowa.

On other things – got the bill for my heart stents – over $40,000.00 for 21 hours in the hospital. Modern medicine is great – just not cheap – thank the Lord I have health insurance!

I am almost finished with my remodeling project so I can start working on my Valiant soon – first I have to get rid of the parts car I bought – turn it into – duh – parts. I hope to start serious work on that soon. I have a lot of new stuff to put on the Valiant convertible when I get going.

I am in a Cardiac Rehab program now too. A couple times a week I go to the center at the same hospital I had the stents put in at and they wire me up to a monitor and work me out – exercise is a key to good (better) health they say. I hope so – can’t hurt I guess and maybe I can learn to enjoy exercise – gonna take a while though.

All for now folks!
